Since 2002, PAL Stratford has been a completely volunteer run organization with a long legacy of committed individuals who took PAL Stratford from conception to reality. From the early years, PAL first established Supporting Cast, a group of volunteers that provide supportive services to extend independent living for arts professionals over the age of 55. After years of fundraising, PAL purchased, renovated and opened the historic building at 101 Brunswick St in 2013. Fundraising efforts successfully paid off the mortgage by 2019 and PAL Stratford has proven its fiscal stability. Despite the challenges of pandemic years, PAL continues to meet its responsibilities and mandate. Now we are ready to grow.
We recognize that growth and change are required to serve the diversity of artists and artisans in our community. We open our tent to all members of the arts community, those who support PAL’s mission, and the wider community in which we live and work. We are committed to fair and equal access to membership and leadership, regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, gender orientation, or ability. We have made a commitment to seek out and provide opportunities for growth and education to ensure our organization will be reflective and inclusive for all peoples. Our organization stands in solidarity with, and works to create meaningful engagement with Indigenous/Black/People of Colour, people of all abilities, and people of all gender identifications.
We are looking for a person who can work independently and meet deadlines and time sensitive requests. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential. Caring relationships with our community of constituents and members are the foundation of PAL, so good humour, empathy, and cultural competencies are a must. A background in the arts organizational field, would be considered a bonus.
