PAL Stratford Supporting Cast

PAL Stratford Mandate

PAL Stratford is a voluntary charitable organization dedicated to the provision of affordable housing and other social benefits to local members and associates of Canada’s professional and performing arts community, who are in need of assistance by reason of low income, age, or disability. PAL Stratford is governed by an elected Board of Directors.

Performing Arts Lodge Stratford Inc. (PAL Stratford) is a Chapter of The PAL Canada Foundation and was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation on June 21, 2002.

PAL Stratford’s Charitable Registration Number is: 86363 2881 RR0001.

One way that PAL Stratford fulfils its mandate is through Supporting Cast.

Supporting Cast

Supporting Cast is a group of volunteers sharing their time, talents and knowledge to support the well-being of PAL's community. Supporting Cast has a paid, part-time coordinator.

PAL Stratford’s Supporting Cast group offers confidential and personal partnership assistance to our members so that they can continue to lead meaningful, independent lives in their own homes. These services include assistance in dealing with local social and community agencies and health care providers. Other areas of assistance include companionship, house checking, check-up phone calls, rides to appointments, running errands, and light housekeeping. Supporting Cast also organizes group activities designed to offer companionship and support, including a weekly coffee meeting at a local restaurant.

Some Supporting Cast members qualify for limited free monthly taxi service to support member independence.

Why Volunteer?

  • Build resources needed to advocate and strengthen this noble organization.
  • Raise the community awareness and profile of PAL Stratford in order to support PAL members in need.
  • Self-awareness and growth.
  • New challenges
  • Concern for social causes.
  • Having fun and networking locally.
