Standing ovation for PAL fundraiser

On October 15th the Stratford community demonstrated its commitment to providing a local Performing Arts Lodge by supporting PAL Stratford’s seventh annual Expect the Extraordinary fundraising event. Entitled Heart and Home an evening with Lucy Peacock & PALs in the Living Room, the show was an exciting mélange of song, music, dance and the spoken word. The evening featured extremely more than thirty extremely talented performers presenting their favourite pieces

The first Expect the Extraordinary event was held in 2000 and has now grown to become an annual show, with a different theme every year. Five artists who performed in the first Cabaret returned this year. Thanks to Laura Burton, Barbara Barsky, Marek Norman, David and Aidan Keeley for their continued support.

The evening began with a silent auction of unique items donated by local supporters including the artisans of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. The audience filling the Avon Theatre responded enthusiastically to the varied performances ranging from the sentimental and sweet to the unexpected and hilarious.

PAL Stratford thanks all the artists and crew who contributed their time and talents for out entertainment.

But above all, major thanks must be extended to those in the Stratford community who joined together to form a wonderfully appreciative audience.

The proceeds of the evening are earmarked for renovations and improvements to our affordable housing project at 101 Brunswick Street.

Thanks again to everyone.
